Cobra Presents, Yewth, ARMI and TEO Magazine Present Vision Festival!
Vision Festival is set to return to Adelaide from the 21st of October to the 23rd of October.
The main event will take place at Jive on Saturday October 22nd with a prog themed lineup. The event will mirror Vision’s debut in 2015, with a larger lineup and longer running time, kicking off at 3.00pm. A pre-party and a master clinic will make up the rest of the weekend’s exciting and captivating program.
Unifying a diverse array of progressive, experimental and post-rock influenced music, concert-goers will also find elements of fusion, heavy metal and much more throughout the day. Headlining Vision Festival is Sydney prog-fusion band, Three Wise Monkeys, blending technicality, creativity and musicianship to the finest degree. Melbourne band, Kettlespider take ’70s inspired progressive rock and blend it with a modern take on post-metal to devastating effect. Joining them is local outfit, Overview Effect, that continue to defy categorisation, enthralling audiences with their spellbinding live performances, and compositions that span over 30 minutes in length.
For Millennia, that draw influence from contemporary metal and alternative styles, also join the Vision Festival lineup. Using odd-meter riffing and contrasting musical themes, they often complement soaring vocal melodies with harsh screaming. Musical deviants, Cobra will also appear; known for their left of centre approach to song writing and the all-out chaos expressed in their compositions and stage presence.
Rounding out the lineup is iiah—an Adelaide based, progressive post rock band that explores diverse avenues of instrumentation through bowed electric guitar and soaring vocals along with ambient textures. CYNYXYTY is a progressive jazz fusion band whose psychedelic grooves strike a balance between composition and improvisation.
Vision Festival (Saturday) is an 18+ event with tickets available now through Moshtix for $10 + booking fee.
This year a Vision Festival pre-party will take place at the Crown & Sceptre on Friday 21st of October. The bill features two secret headliners to be revealed closer to the date as well as support from melodic prog-band, Stranger Things Have Happened and Melbourne psych-rock band, Fierce Mild.
The Vision Festival pre-party is an 18+ event and tickets will be available on the door for $5.
To celebrate the partnership with Vision Festival, the Australian Rock and Metal Institute will be hosting a master clinic with Three Wise Monkeys on Sunday 23rd of October. The master clinic will include a live performance aspect, covering a range of topics including gear and efx, playing in odd times, writing and composition, jamming, improvisation and a Q&A session with the band.
The Vision Festival Master Clinic is an all ages event and tickets will cost $10 + booking fee, with the poster and ticket retailer TBA.
