Local craft beer brewers from Malt Fiction have been awarded three silvers and one bronze in the world’s largest annual beer competition, the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA), held in Melbourne Thursday, May 19 2016.

Malt Fiction was awarded silver for ‘Best International Pale Ale,’ ‘Best Packaging (labels/surface graphic on cans)’ and ‘Best Packaging (consumer retail packaging/outer case)’ for their Session Ale. As well as taking out bronze for ‘Best American Style International Pale Ale’ for their draught IPA.

Head brewer of Malt Fiction, Jared Birbeck, says, “Out of 1,700 entries from 350 brewers and breweries, Malt Fiction has proven to be one of the best having been awarded so highly.

“The AIBA promotes brewing excellence in Australia and around the globe and we are thrilled that Malt Fiction has been recognized for prestigious awards such as these,” says Jared Birbeck.

Judged by a panel of high calibre experts with extensive experience across the beer industry, the AIBA honours packaged and draught beer that not only boast excellence in their product, but in their presentation as well.

“Our graphic designer, James Hopgood, has done an outstanding job to ensure the appearance of our beers complements our product perfectly,” says Jared Birbeck.

Established in 2014, Malt Fiction now has four awards up their sleeves for their brew ‘Session Ale’, with the hopes of many more successful brews to come.
