Emerging Australian genderless fashion label, TalaMade, is set to steal the spotlight as it makes its runway debut at Melbourne Fashion Week on Wednesday, 28th August 2019. Born out of the mind of 21-year-old Sydney creative, Tala Surace, TalaMade is a completely genderless fashion label. Best described as a hybrid of gothicism and modern-day streetwear, the brand’s aesthetic holds true to an overall androgynous look with its signature style featuring voluminous silhouettes, immense layering and a monochromatic colour scheme. TalaMade is all about questioning the common perception of what fashion is and the methods in which people utilise fashion as a tool to inform and interpret.
TalaMade will showcase its debut collection, ‘100K ZONE’ at the new Highrise Runway series, set on the 85th floor of the Eureka Tower, along with some first-look exclusives from the label’s upcoming second collection, ‘100K ZONE: UNLIMITED.’
Highrise Runway 3 will see TalaMade sit alongside other edgy independent designers, including A.BCH, AMXANDER, Chris Ran Lin, DOUBLE RAINBOUU, ERIK-YVON, GARBAGE tv and MNDATORY.
Fashion Week-goers with a thirst for discovering unique designs with the distinct edge and originality Melbourne street fashion is renowned for are encouraged to check out the TalaMade x MNDATORY pop-up.
In a win for local Australian designers supporting one another, TalaMade’s Melbourne Fashion Week collection will be available in MNDATORY’s St. Collins Lane store from Wednesday, 21st August to Friday, 6th September 2019.
