Adelaide’s 2015 Handpicked Festival will take place on November 14 and promises to be a day of fun, food, wine and good music.
The Fleurieu Peninsula’s Lake Breeze Wines is just a short road trip from the Adelaide CBD and will host the second Handpicked Festival after a successful 2014 event. The festival’s impressive lineup (which made me squeal like a teenage fan-girl) will be headlined by Birds of Tokyo. The popular rock group has released several chart topping hits with their last self-titled album spending eight months in the Australian Top 20.
Two other well-known acts include the young chart topper, Conrad Sewell who opened for Ed Sheeran on his Multiply Australian Tour and the ARIA Award winning Dan Sultan.
Completing the lineup are homegrown South Australian acts, indie-pop sibling trio The Germein Sisters, indie-folk singer Timberwolf, alternative rock band INDIAGO and local rising blues singer Paige Renee Court. Both Court and Indiago were selected by 10, 000 voters to play at this year’s festival as part of an initiative to support and grow local talent.
Handpicked Festival Event Manager, Kate Cooper, says, “We are beyond excited to have such amazing Australian artists, whom have international status, playing at this year’s Handpicked Festival.”
The event would not be complete without food and wine, which will feature delicious cuisine by by selected food trucks accompanied by Lake Breeze’s own wine selection.
The Handpicked Festival was created to help place the award winning winery and the wider Langhorne Creek region, only an hour from Adelaide on the map.
Thousands are expected to flock to the winery so get in quick to avoid missing out on what is set to be a relaxed and pleasant day out.
